Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body restore and improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved sleep, and greater flexibility.

Myofascial release

Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane supporting and surrounding muscles.  Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion, posture and comfort level.  While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage  -If you asked 10 different massage therapists to define deep tissue massage you would probably receive 8 different answers.  One response may be "Deep tissue means deep pressure".  Another response may be, "Deep tissue is a technique used to access deeper layers of muscle and/or trigger points". Thanks to a greater interest in massage therapy; research, science, and philosophies are changing for the better.

Your muscle tissues are not full of toxins.  And receiving deep tissue massage does not release those toxins.  And it's not crucial to drink plenty of water to help flush those toxins out.  It's important to drink plenty of water everyday cause our bodies are made up of water and need water to function properly.  I'd also like to take this moment to bust another massage myth.  A massage does NOT have to hurt to be effective!  In fact, I find it to be counter productive.  Muscles can't relax when they're also giving a pain signal to your brain.

Thai Yoga Massage

60 minutes: $75

2,500 years ago this dynamic bodywork emerged from the temples of Thailand. Based on Ayurveda this bodywork blends yoga and acupressure for a deeply relaxing treatment. The practitioner uses their hands, knees and feet to guide the client through a series of yoga postures and stretches, while applying acupressure. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system, increases range of motion and calms the mind.

Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable attire allowing ease of movement.  No yoga experience is necessary to enjoy this ancient therapy.

Warm Bamboo massage

90 minutes: $100

Bamboo tools of different shapes are heated inside of a heating pad. Bamboo retains heat longer and more evenly than basalt stones in hot stone therapy.  The bamboo tools act as an extension of the hands and the therapist can easily palpate, find tension, knead and stretch muscle and fascia in all directions. The massage can go as light or as deep as necessary.  This wonderful technique promotes a deep sense of well-being and delicious relaxation. Many clients report that the positive effects of the bamboo tools seem even longer lasting than deep tissue massage without the bamboo tools.

Heated Stone Therapy

75 minutes: $90

Heated Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Structural Integration

Structural integration employs soft tissue manipulation with the goal of realigning the body in relationship to the force of gravity. The theory underlying structural integration asserts that often the body's connective tissue is "bound up," thus restricting opposing muscles from working independently of one another. Thus, we aim to loosen the restricted connective tissue by using a practice very similar to deep tissue massage. Practitioners typically prescribe a specific sequence of ten sessions lasting between 75 and 90 minutes in order to "unlock" the whole body.
